This Draft Regulation lays down the principles and the procedures for detergents and surfactants for detergents placed on the market to achieve the free movement and ensure a high degree of protection of the environment and human health.

This Regulation includes the following rules for the placing on the market of detergents and of surfactants for detergents:

a) The biodegradability of surfactants in detergents,

b) Restrictions or bans on surfactants on grounds of biodegradability,

c) The additional labelling of detergents, including fragrance allergens,

d) The information that manufacturers must hold at the disposal of the Ministry and medical personnel;

e) Limitations on the content of phosphates and other phosphorus compounds in consumer laundry detergents and consumer automatic dishwasher detergents.

This Regulation shall enter into force six months after the publication in the Official Gazette of Turkey.

The provisions of this Regulation shall be enforced by the Minister of Customs and Trade.
