Beginning from 1 March, 2017 both imported and domestic produced suitcases must undergo an inspection process and be affixed with the commodity inspection mark before placing on the market.
The inspection requirements are based on CNS 15331 “Evaluation criteria for bags, cases and trunks”. Where there is a wheel or a bar with frame or a fixed shape of the suitcase, they fall within the scope of mandatory inspection.
Consumers are reminded the following tips when purchasing suitcases after March 1, 2017:
1.come with a commodity inspection mark and a Chinese label containing sufficient product information to protect consumer rights and interests.
2.do not buy the unknown, poor quality, or unidentified with insufficiently marked information on products.
3.try the rod for sensitivity and smooth functioning, choose those that have their expand and contract pull-handle operating smoothly and with good grip because suitcases almost rely on its rod to function.
4.pay attention to wheel smoothness and noise, or select reduced noise volume, such as mute or silence design to avoid noise.
5.check the appearance of the suitcases to ensure they are intact and no pungent smell outside, and to check to see if each zipper is solid and smooth, or if the buttons are durable. |
